Show or hide the summary
- During a game, open Escape → SETTINGS → INTERFACE.
- Select FEATURE SUMMARY to switch the small resource summary on or off.
- Use BACK to return through the menu, then resume the game. When enabled and there are totals to show, the summary appears near the bottom of the radar screen, above the menu bar.
- You can also open ASSETS (R) and read its summary at the bottom. Turning the separate screen summary off does not remove the ASSETS summary or change your resources.
What do the labels mean?
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| FTR | Fighters remaining in the military-base inventory. This is not every friendly aircraft on the map, and it does not guarantee that each fighter is ready to launch. |
| FUEL … kg | Fuel in military-base stores plus fuel aboard the active fighters counted here. kg means kilograms. The base’s own panel uses tonnes: one tonne is 1,000 kilograms. |
| AIR | The part already aboard those active fighters. It is included in the total before it. Do not add it again. |
| WPN … [M…/G…] | Weapons counted as individual items. M is missiles; G is cannon rounds. One missile and one cannon round each add one to WPN, so this total is not a measure of fighting strength. |
Try this example
| Example reading | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| FTR 6 | Six fighters remain in the base inventory. Check their base and servicing status before choosing a launch. |
| FUEL 50,000 kg (AIR 6,000 kg) | 50,000 kg in total: 6,000 kg aboard active fighters and 44,000 kg in base stores. Do not read this as 56,000 kg. |
| WPN 1,208 [M8/G1,200] | Eight missiles plus 1,200 cannon rounds: 1,208 items. |
| (AIR M2/G400) | Two of those eight missiles and 400 of those rounds are already aboard active fighters. That leaves six missiles and 800 rounds in the base stores included here. |
These are made-up figures to practise reading the labels, not the starting resources of a particular mission. In the game, the figures form one summary line.
What the total cannot tell you
A large fuel total does not mean the base you need has fuel: it may be stored elsewhere or already aboard fighters. The AIR contribution here covers active fighters, not fuel aboard tankers, AWACS or Nimrod. A fighter count does not replace the servicing check, and a weapon total does not tell you whether the selected fighter carries the right weapons. Open the named base’s resource panel and the aircraft’s fuel and weapon figures in ACTIVE OPS for those decisions.
Why can a number lag behind?
The summary updates periodically, rather than after every change on every frame. If an aircraft has just launched, landed or received fuel, the combined total may take time to catch up. Check the relevant base or aircraft for the detail you need now; changing FEATURE SUMMARY only changes its visibility.
If the line is missing or confusing
- Check Escape → SETTINGS → INTERFACE → FEATURE SUMMARY if you want the separate screen summary.
- Open ASSETS and look at its bottom summary too. A blank line can occur when there are no totals to show; it is not proof that the radar has lost every aircraft.
- If a number seems wrong, note whether you are reading base stores, onboard fuel or the combined summary. Check the units and avoid counting AIR twice.
- If the problem remains, keep the game version, session or training mission, time, base name, aircraft callsign and a screenshot for your report.
Use the right next step
Use SUP when a base needs a delivery, RDP when an aircraft needs to move to another base, and REFUEL when a fighter in the air needs fuel from a tanker. These orders solve different shortages. For a written report about a military base, use ASMA’s FUEL AT, WEAPONS AT and ASSETS AT commands.
