A short path through the basics

Read one guide at a time. Use the existing game training to practise. The longer walkthrough is optional and has chapters.

  1. 01

Where should I start in Air Defender?

Start with the radar picture. Learn what one track is telling you before trying to manage the whole airspace.

  2. 02

What is the difference between a plot and a track?

A plot is a detection. A track brings successive detections together so the system can follow movement and display information.

  3. 03

Why does a triangle become a circle or semicircle?

The origin shape changes when a plot is associated with a track. The established shape also tells you which radar information is contributing.

  4. 04

What is the difference between Nimrod and AWACS in the game?

Nimrod R1 listens for emissions. The E-3D Sentry supplies airborne radar coverage.
