Read this before using a shortcut

These are the defaults for v0.8.16.0. Your saved bindings may differ: open Escape → SETTINGS → KEYBOARD and compare the action label with its key button. The English labels below match the game. None means no key is assigned. Close settings before testing an action. See how to change or reset a binding.

Identity shortcuts in v0.8.16.0

The identity shortcuts below can apply to several eligible hooked tracks, not only the current selection. Check the group before pressing one. A selected contact outside the hooked group takes the single-contact path. Clear unwanted hooks by right-clicking empty map space without dragging.

Contacts and their data · TRACK MANAGEMENT

Action in KEYBOARDDefault keyWhat happens / further help
Toggle HookHAdd or remove the selected contact from your hooked working group. Numpad 0 also works. Read the procedure.
Toggle Data OverlayNoneNo default key. If assigned, changes the selected contact’s individual data-overlay setting without changing its hook. Global datablocks and other visibility settings still apply. D cannot be assigned to this action. Individual data-overlay steps →
Toggle All DatablocksXSwitch the global datablock display on or off. Individually requested data can remain visible; this does not remove aircraft. Read the procedure.
Solo Datablocks (Selected Only)BkspBackspace turns global blocks off and removes other hooks. Select the intended contact first. Pressing again does not restore the old group. Read the procedure.
Solo Track Data (Selected/Hooked)DelDelete keeps data for selected and hooked contacts. In ASMA, click A/C once to clear a sortie filter before checking the new TRACK DATA SOLO ON/OFF reply. Leaving ATC ends the current controller conversation. Press again to remove this restriction; other filters still apply. Read the procedure.
Minimal Track DetailCDespite the settings label, C switches between minimal and full detail. Press it again to switch back. Read the procedure.
Full Track DetailPgUpPage Up selects full detail. It does not turn off solo restrictions, identity filters or other visibility settings. Read the procedure.
ASMA Call ATC (Selected Track)\Ask ATC about the selected contact through ASMA. Select a contact first and read the response; the call is not a fighter order. Read the procedure.
Assign Ident ACtrl + ARequest A: Assumed Friendly for the intended contact or eligible hooked group, then check its resulting identity. An unavailable track or protected friendly can reject the change. This is not a display filter. Read the procedure.
Assign Ident UCtrl + URequest U: Unknown for the intended contact or eligible hooked group, then check its resulting identity. An unavailable track or protected friendly can reject the change. This does not display all unknown contacts. Read the procedure.
Assign Ident SCtrl + SAssign S: Suspect. Use the identification procedure and check whether the game accepts the change. Read the procedure.
Assign Ident HCtrl + HAssign H: Hostile when the game permits it. Read the identification evidence and resulting identity; a shortcut does not bypass the rules. Read the procedure.

Menu, guide and display · INTERFACE

Action in KEYBOARDDefault keyWhat happens / further help
Toggle FullscreenF11Change WINDOWED to BORDERLESS, or BORDERLESS/FULLSCREEN to WINDOWED. Alt + Enter is a separate fixed shortcut, including keypad Enter; rebinding F11 does not change it. Read the steps and checks.
Menu / EscapeEscPhysical Escape opens or closes the main menu; a popup can handle it first. A replacement menu key can open the menu but may not close it. Use physical Escape to close it after rebinding. Read the procedure.
Toggle Game Status HUD'Show or hide the session-status banner. This apostrophe/quote key is different from the backquote pause key. Read the procedure.
Guide PanelCtrl + Shift + GShow or hide the Guide after it has opened. If the shortcut does nothing, click HELP on the bottom menu first. Read the opening and lookup steps.

Which controls are fixed?

The camera’s movement and zoom keys, mouse controls, Z camera follow and F1–F9 menu positions are separate from this editable list. Follow the navigation guide. The forward slash / or numpad divide key performs the game’s Squawk IDENT action on the selected contact; that action also centres the view and calls ATC. The backquote pause key is explained in pause and speed controls.

Tab cycles radar station views and centres the camera. Close the Escape menu and finish text entry first. This fixed key chooses a view; it does not switch radar power. See the station-selection steps.

Practise with a panel, not an aircraft order

  1. Choose M / ASMA Console in the list above and check its current binding in SETTINGS → KEYBOARD.
  2. Return to the scope, away from text fields, and press it once. ASMA should change between shown and hidden. Press it again to return to the previous state.
  3. If it fails, reopen KEYBOARD and check the actual key. Look for duplicate assignments and read the original-key and Ctrl exceptions. Do not use Quick QRA Launch or identity changes merely to test a key.

Use the bottom menu’s key hints

During normal play, find the three-by-three menu at the bottom of the scope. If the Escape/settings screen covers it, close that screen first.

A hint such as F1/7 means F1 or 7 on the numeric keypad, not 7 above the letter keys. You can also left-click the labelled button. Read the buttons again after entering a submenu: the same key can now choose a different option. Try opening RADARS, then choosing BACK with the first button’s hint.

The keypad follows its own layout: 7/8/9 across the top, 4/5/6 in the middle and 1/2/3 across the bottom. F1–F9 follow the menu left to right, then down each row. Home, Page Up, Insert/Clear, End and Page Down also select the top-left, top-right, centre, bottom-left and bottom-right positions.

Finish typing in any text box before using menu shortcuts. Arrow keys move the map during play; they do not choose these menu buttons. Use the map movement steps when you want to move the view.
